The Tree

The Tree

Too late you told me
to stop thinking about you.
I'm caught. This late light
is full of perfume
from your flowers within it.
If I climb the tree
of knowledge and pick
the fruit, should I drop it down
to you, would you eat?
I ate already.
Now I see why I risked it.
I see why I love.

  1. love and risk go hand in hand. in fact, real risk lives only because love does. all other risk is a sham.

    1. I think you are right about this, however I also think one loves music or poesy or medicine or engineering in this way. Even Patton, who said something like "War is like making love, you gotta keep shoving," points out you can love war in the way that love and risk go hand in hand.

The chicken crossed the road. That's poultry in motion.
